Nick Ziogas

Nick Ziogas has been a member of the CERN Knowledge Transfer group since 2012. As a Knowledge Transfer Officer he is responsible for the dissemination of CERN technology and know-how, specialising in the area of information and telecommunication technologies (ICT) - but not only.

He previously worked within CERN’s IT Service Management team, involved notably in Problem and Event management. While leading the User Support section of IT, Nick was responsible for the site-wide computing desktop support, the CERN IT Helpdesk and IT problem management. Additionally, his responsibilities included the definition and negotiation of service level agreements with services across the organization and the definition of the strategy for the implementation of a CERN-wide printing policy for which he oversaw the Operations management.

Prior to User Support, Nick was a systems analyst and developer, involved in the definition and development of administrative software applications. In addition, he worked on workflow systems and electronic data interchange systems, establishing data exchange partnerships with financial organizations and CERN suppliers. Nick who is currently senior staff member of the Organization, joined CERN in 1987.

Nick holds a BSc Honours degree in Physics from Imperial College of Science and Technology and an MSc in Computer Science from University College, London.
