Camstech

Camstech Logo

Camstech is a CERN spin-off commercialising a novel electrochemical sensor technology, initially for research within life sciences and successively for applications in biotechnology and medical diagnostics. In order to scale up and manufacture the sensors, they have licensed technology originally utilised on the LHC upgrade.

Although initially aimed at the health sector, the sensor allows for a very accurate measurement of dissolved oxygen in liquids, which is one of the key indicators of water quality. A commercial low-cost version of the sensor will make precise water quality measurement more accessible worldwide.
