ADVACAM – a company using CERN Medipix technology - developed a new range of X-ray imaging cameras optimised for composite material testing. The cameras are coupled with robotic arm systems to offer a wide range of viewing angles. Even challenging defects such as micro-cracks can be detected with a spatial resolution below 55 µm. This creates a powerful tool for non-destructive testing for the aviation industry and beyond.
